Betting System Review - The Betting Black Box

My inbox has been full of the usual betting system rubbish over the last few weeks and as usual I deleted most of them after looking at the sales content but one grabbed my attention because it was supposedly written by a "window cleaner". This I had to see for curiosity sake if nothing else! This ex window cleaner claimed he had cracked the racing game and discovered a secret loophole which was now generating a handsome income from a very small starting bank.

The Betting Black Box was the latest of my betting system reviews and as with all new projects I got my teeth sunk straight in. From the very outset I had a feeling about this one and better still, it was a GOOD feeling. Something just felt right. This system requires very little time for the average punter to use which is a big bonus in my book. Who, these days, can afford to spend many hours stuck in front of their PC?

I would say that all selections for the day can be made in less than 30 minutes so this opens up a window for those that need to do this before going to work. So a little reorganisation of your day could see you finding your selections and placing bets on them very easily. The manual is also clear and precise, a welcome change. At 50 pages, not over bloated with the usual useless padding either. It comes as a PDF download as soon as you complete the payment process. When I say "over bloated" I mean just that. There is some of the usual stuff which I don't think necessary, but that is just my opinion.

There is adequate use of pictures and working examples where necessary. You do get to the meat of the betting system fairly quickly by around the tenth page and this is where the sales hype falls flat.

The essence of the system is just a fairly logical idea within the Betfair markets with a concise set of four rules applied. Having said that, I, and no-one else had never thought of it so it is "new" but not what could be considered a "loophole". And, in any case, a "loophole" suggests something slightly dodgy to me and that it could be closed down if discovered. This is not and should work as long as Betfair exists. It is astounding what 4 simple rules can do! The manual also includes a sound staking system to enhance the profits made. As I have said before, staking systems are good if the system stacks up on Level Stakes and this does fairly well on that score.

The rest of the manual, whilst possibly having some value for the novice punter, contain little else as far as the main system is concerned and I have already consigned these to the waste paper bin. As a whole, I would give the manual, its content and style of writing 7 out of 10. The betting system itself is my first ever 10 out of 10. I love this and would highly recommend an immediate purchase.

The extremely low cost of £27 is fully covered by the Clickbank 60 day money back guarantee, as are all the systems I recommend.

Racing Tips for Laying - Finding the Right Tipster Service III

I can't help you until you STOP!

Maybe you need to consider whether gambling is at all for you... it is just not the right money making medium for everyone. So, FREE trials, are they really worth it? Well YES and NO. There are however, more downsides than up. What is the point anyway? We have just discussed that we should be in this for the LONG GAME so shouldn't your provider have the same attitude. I truly believe that any service offering a FREE trial could be sending you the wrong signal and almost encouraging you to fail.

I understand that getting something FREE or only having to pay 1 month up front sounds appealing. After all, you could just hit the jackpot and get lucky, making a ton of money and then move on to the next FREE trial having paid very little or nothing. Again, is this the right mind set? I don't think so do you? What is so appealing? Most reputable services, if they offer any incentives, will have much better deals on longer term subscriptions.

Why do you do it... what's the answer?

To me it's as clear as ice... you still have the cut and run mentality and are still looking for a FREE RIDE at the expense of someone else’s hard work.
That is not the attitude for long term success. It is not the mentality of a successful punter who knows that worked properly, laying horses is a great long term strategy.

Well, I hope this has helped...

Here’s your quick checklist for success.

  • Take advantage of any FREE trial to evaluate the SERVICE and not the PROFIT made short term.
  • Stick with the same service for 3 MONTHS MINIMUM!
  • This is more than enough time to make an accurate decision based on all the RIGHT factors.

Always bear in mind that several losers/winners in quick succession can destroy your hard earned profits and send you into a loss making situation... but that is the nature of the beast you wrestle with.
LONG TERM INVESTMENT is our objective here and get the determination to stick with it.

You have been warned... laying horses is NOT a quick way to your dream Ferrari, it is fraught with danger. But, develop the right mind set and get the right racing tips service on board and you will succeed.

A racing tips service that I can recommend is xWin Investments.

Racing Tips for Laying - Finding the Right Tipster Service II

Let's analyse where it all went wrong.

Well, without stating the obvious here, if your selection criteria that you used to choose your racing tips service was sound (which it was, wasn't it?), you should have realised that there is not a service on earth that will provide a constant stream of losers. A winner is inevitable, it's like night and day, and one follows the other and has done since the beginning of time. And more bad news I'm afraid, the shorter the price the lay advice is provided at the more the winners will increase. The horse is not at a short price for nothing. Well, most of the time it is not, but that's a whole different story.

So, oh bearer of grim tidings what's your point here?

Okay... let's re-evaluate for a minute. You had some winners, does this make the tipster service rubbish? Well, NO! You didn't make instant riches, again is this the tipster to blame? Again, NO! Could it be down to your mental expectation? An emphatic YES! Maybe your whole perception of what is needed to make money from laying horses was flawed. If I were going to trial a racing tipster service, laying or backing, the last thing on my list would be the INITIAL PROFITABILITY during the trial period. To me, that is not what the trial is all about. Don't get me wrong here, it would be ON my list but not right at the top.

So let's set about preparing you right mentally. This is the key to progression from wandering around in the dark to financial freedom. We have to develop a LONG TERM mind set. We have to be in this for the LONG HAUL and not just a quick gain.

You will now be wondering... why is this so important?

It's simple. If you are just looking for a quick fix then maybe you will strike it rich by constantly moving from one racing tips service to another. But I doubt it! You should be looking for a LONG TERM consistent income. Get over the HYPE. Hopefully you don't let it control your life. I mean you don't buy a new flat screen TV, watch it for 3 weeks and decide it's useless cause there were some programs you didn't like and proceed to chuck it in the bin. Was it the TV's fault? Laying horses is not the get rich quick scheme some would have you believe - so patience and persistence is an absolute necessity.

One thing laying horses can be... guaranteed... is a get broke extremely quick scheme if all you are looking for is a quick fix. I know as I am writing this that some of you will still quit services on as little as two or three successive losers/winners. You have to realise that trying to join a racing tips service at the beginning of a long winning streak is like trying to win the pools, win the lottery or finding a needle in a haystack... possibly all three combined.

Racing Tips for Laying - Finding the Right Tipster Service

If you are attempting to be successful at earning an income laying tips you will certainly need to be in the right frame of mind. The "laying" thought process will be crucial in your success or failure.

A pretty bold opening statement but let me explain further what I mean.
Indulge me for a moment and let's just look at your requirements from your racing tips provider. You have done your research and are sure that you have found a service that will be the answer to all your problems. A very professional website with great results posted going back the last 100 years. Sorry, couldn't resist the sarcasm. And, just to cap it all off, they are offering you a FREE trial for 30 days at no cost to you.

You have pushed that button already haven’t you! Believe me I know the feeling from many years ago... your heart is racing and you can hardly see past those pound signs in front of your eyes. If any of this is striking a chord don't worry, you are not the first nor will you be the last! Nobody can convince you otherwise that you have found the perfect solution to all your problems.

So, the first day begins and YES!!!

We are off to a flying start and selection after selection brings home the bacon... your Betfair accounts has never looked so healthy. Everything is going great and, OH NO! A loser turns up... a loser indeed. That wasn't in the plan at all! From bad to worse several winners later and it happens again, and again. What is going on here, I never agreed to accepting losers! By the 3rd week of the trial your wonder service has provided several losers and against all you expected you are now showing a minimal loss.

What happens next in this saga...?

If only I had a pound for every time the next action took place. That mouse button is clicking again but this time it is faster and on the Cancel button on the racing tipsters’ website. This time it is you who is off and running looking for that next magical website that can promise you the earth and what do you think will happen there if you follow the same pattern. I will continue looking at this in tomorrow’s post.

In the mean time... check out this great racing tips service I have found.

Online Casino's - 5 Important Checks Before Playing

With the proliferation of online casinos today, the best of the best are very good at recreating the everyday experience of a visit to the casino right there on your own PC. The graphical interfaces provided are stunning and very realistic and provide smooth uninterrupted game play and on the whole, a user friendly interface.

Today, there is sound regulatory observance of all online casinos ensuring that the gaming offered is fair, but as a newcomer, there are obviously several issues that you need to be aware of before you part with any of your hard earned cash.

  1. The Rules!

Study the casino site's terms and conditions! Especially any incentive offers that may be available - all offers are not created equal. You should be fully aware of all the rules both for the site and the game you are playing before you play with real money as mistakes are not easy, if not impossible, to rectify. Two very important conditions to check are the charges on deposits/withdrawals and when you can withdraw funds. The later especially applies to any incentives that may be available to you.

  2. What Level Of Customer Support Is Available?

Do they have a free phone / toll free number that they can be contacted on? This is vital in my opinion. I will often call before making any deposit to check this out thoroughly. An on-line chat service is very good as well for those quick support queries you may have. Do they have one? What about e-mail? This is my least favourite choice but I would always make sure they can be contacted via this method as well. The best casinos will have all of these facilities for you to call on for any support issues that arise during play.

  3. Are There Any Comments To Be Found On-Line?

Do a quick search and see if there are any comments around, good or bad. There are many reputable gambling forums available to you and just ask the questions and see what more experienced players have to say. Reputation is paramount for an online casino and the good ones go to great length to keep their clients happy. As in all walks of life, bad news spreads much quicker than good news and a casino's reputation can be destroyed with just a few bad stories. When viewing posts on forums you will learn to quickly distinguish between a "rant" from someone who has just lost all their money and genuine complaints or praise. Just like with the casino investigation, never take a single post at face value. Always dig a little deeper and you will most likely get the truth.

  4. Bonuses And How They Work!

No doubt you will have seen some of the sometimes ridiculous amounts of money that is available in "bonus" incentives. There are many websites today solely dedicated to just that alone. Don't get overexcited! There are always conditions and this is why you must check these offers out fully. Most, if not all, bonus deposits will require a certain amount of "play-through". Simply put, this means that for whatever amount the casino gives you as a bonus, this amount of money will have to be played a certain number of times. For $100, for example, you may have to generate play worth $1000 or more. There may also be restrictions as to what games you can play with this money and they may also limit the size of the stake you can use. Sometimes the casino may restrict the bonus to slot machines when you want to play Blackjack. Once again ... check the rules! Remember, casinos are not there to give away money, but if you use these bonuses wisely they can be very worthwhile.

  5. The House Never Loses!

Let' bring this right back down to earth for a moment. I realise we all dream of hitting that huge jackpot one day but we have to be realistic. This IS gambling after all and historically only very few people make any sort of living from this activity. Like it or loath it, this fact is the simple and honest truth.

Never gamble with what you cannot afford to lose but never gamble with the intention of losing. Do your research, take advantage of any reasonable offers available and play wisely my friend. Maybe one day...

Betting System - Betfair Renegade [Update]

Talking of closing doors, and the Betfair Renegade continues to fly in the face of ’sold out’ threats, and remains available for purchase as I write this post and, will no doubt remain for sale for may weeks and months to come.

Although this type of sales pitch is becoming increasingly more common, I’m not a fan of it. If you say you’re limiting something, you should limit it. I think those who don’t honour such promises are disrespectful to the system buying public (i.e. you).

Okay, little rant over, at the end of the day if a system has merit, and I can potentially make money from it, then whatever reservations I have about the marketing tactics (the sales page for Renegade is truly a shocker!) are secondary.

The Betfair Renegade betting system remains in front to the tune of ten odd points yesterday, and there was a lot of action today, ten bets, though this barely affected the bottom line. The day ended just over half a point up at Betfair SP and with commissions accounted for. There are two more possible selections due to run at Kempton this evening.

It looks like this system will continue to produce small but consistent growth in your betting bank as I predicted. Not a world beater by any means but just what the doctor ordered. Several of these consistent betting systems in your arsenal and you will soon notice the difference in wealth.

Betting System - Betfair Blueprint

Oh dear... another week goes by and yet another "all conquering" system has hit the headlines and our no doubt tired and weary inboxes. How these so called experts find the time to release all these systems, let alone test them and gather their superfluous testimonials is beyond me. This time it is another from Kris Jackman. If that means nothing to you then let me tell you that Kris Jackman is the driving force behind Betterbet publishing.

I have a lot of time for the systems from Kris as they normally involve a lot of common sense ideas which can be found lacking in the majority of systems that pass my way these days. I sometimes take issue with the marketing techniques used but this can really be said about most system marketers online.

But surprisingly I find myself having some real issues with this one Betfair Blueprint. After a little delving deeper it has become apparent that this betting system is not in fact authored by Kris himself which is unusual and could be misleading. Now there is, in itself, nothing wrong with that but, I think this should be clearer from the outset.

My second issue the fact that I have no real time to test it and also the complexity of the criteria listed makes it very difficult to enter this into the historical database program that I use to test all systems. This issue in itself would not be a problem if I had a suitable time period in which to conduct genuine trials. However, the latest marketing ploy rears its ugly head here in the fact that it is stated that this system will be withdrawn from the market in 36 hours. TOSH.... anyone falling for this is just plain stupid!

Basically, the system is looking for an angle to support its selections in the place betting market on Betfair and from what I have read it presents a sound basis on which to do this.

But I have stated my reservations and these are compounded even further by the simple fact that two of the rules you have to deal with will have an inconsistent effect spread across different races. Not wishing to divulge the whole system, race distance is a “variable” and not an “absolute”; and, dividing race going into differing halves is too arbitrary in my opinion to be meaningful n any shape or form whatsoever.

The final nail in the coffin for me was that the system requires backing horses at pretty short prices, very short prices (always odds on)! Whilst it is obvious that by doing this losers will be a fairly rare occurrence, the other side of the coin is that they will be expensive and – over time – have a detrimental effect on your betting bank. Indeed, it’s this point that specifically mandates that the system needs a good trial period before any proper verdict can be arrived at.

So, my advice will be that you should give this particular Betfair Blueprint the body swerve it deserves for now. I have already bought it, as I always buy products for review purposes and to provide my opinion on it for you in an unbiased fashion. I won’t be refunding on it, because I can’t say it doesn’t work – YET!

Racing Tips - Betfair Renegade Review

A lot of you have been contacting me about this "new wonder system" that has just hit the market and my first thought was ... here we go again, not another wonder system that will wipe out in an instant all the hard work I have been doing over the years!

But I thought, oh well, I'll shell out and take a look so that at least I can give you all a decent review.

Betfair Renegade is a laying system, i.e. a system which looks to oppose horses as against backing them to win. The methos concentrates on horses towards the top end of the market, based on a set of simple enough rules.

Now, first up, I have to say that my immediate impression when opening the short eleven page document was, “what a pile of back-fitted junk”, but then, that is normally my first impressions. Some people have just no idea how to write an interesting, informative manual.

But let’s be fair. Despite one system rule that I’d ignore if it was relevant (the rule says to exclude Catterick and Ripon, which is patently nonsensical [It's not relevant because - aside from a little jump racing at Catterick, there's nothing to exclude.]), the concept has at least a modicum of merit.

I am sure you have probably seen the results spreadsheet provided on the site but as I always do, I ran the system rules through Racing Systems Builder, and the rules returned an initial loss of around 20% at SP and I was glad to find that all the selections in the spreadsheet were indeed what Betfair Renegade selection methods would have picked. The question is whether that’s sufficient when laying at these odds and when taking into account Betfair SP.

I have to point out here that some of the grammar in the document is very annoying and wrong and if you’re easily put off by such things, you might need a stiff drink and a chair before perusing the pages. Nevertheless, despite all these reservations, it will be interesting to see how the Betfair Renegade fares...

So, at first glance, this could be promising and I would imagine that this betting system will not remain available for long! My suggestion is to get hold of a copy and you can always use the refund option via Clickbank should I report any detrimental results over the next week or so.

Betting System Reviews

Hi ... I have just been asked to clarify things on the betting system reviews that I do. You should note that:

  • I have purchased and tested all the systems myself
  • I do not accept free copies to promote. You can't bribe me so don't try!
  • I only ever review systems that offer a trial or a 30/60 Day Money Back Gaurantee
  • If you purchase a product after my review via any link in this blog, I do make an affiliate commission

Most of these products will be available through Clickbank so should any problems arise when seeking a refund they will issue it to you immediately. This is a safegaurd, because even the best of us are fooled sometimes!

Racing Tips - How Pro's Do It

As requested I am continuing to post daily results to prove my credentials...

A Horse Racing Jedi Knight - How To Master Discipline In Betting

I hope you enjoyed my last post which included a couple of free starter betting systems to get you started thinking about making your own. Have you had the chance to put them into play yet?

Before we get stuck in with this article and the 2nd part of my "7 Step Roadmap To Riches" plan of action, I'd just like to revist the betting systems topic for a moment if you will indulge me.

I know I may be preaching to the choir for some readers here and that a great many of you will have your own systems and/or methods. If I could please ask a favour?

If you do have a system, or a strategy for picking horses that you have been developing, and you don't mind sharing it with other readers of this newsletter, would you please send it to me? I promise to have a look at it and offer any help or pointers that may improve it absolutely free of charge!

Please though, be very specific about your system rules, and try to eliminate any grey areas so that even if 100 different readers were to follow the plan as outlined, they would all come up with the same horse. This is crucial for any system developer if you wish to go to market with it or even just to prove to anyone interested that it is a valid betting system.

Can you please also give your betting system a name (the weirder the better in my opinion!), and email it to me HERE. If it is any good, I will feature it in a future article I write (without giving your secrets away) and maybe even consider marketing it with you in a JV should you wish to make money with it.

OK, sorry about that digression, but I forgot to mention it in my last post. So, back to those two systems I shared with you last time.

Have you tried them yet? Have you won any money?

If you did, then you have already failed today's lesson miserably - DISCIPLINE.

I advised you not to "paper-trade" them and to go ahead and start using them to profit.

If you did this then go and stand in the nearest corner!! I'll deal with you later....

Sorry if I just reminded you of your old school headmaster and you've just suffered horrendous flash-backs. Of course I'm only kidding, but I do hope I've made a point? This is your first lesson... NEVER blindly trust a person who says his system can't fail. This is a definite road to the poor house. Test... Test... and Test again! Then, if everything checks out fully, risk your hard earned cash. Anyway, if you did win some cash, then congratulations naughty person, and you can buy the teacher an apple or Lamborghini, depending on how LUCKY.

Notice how I used the word LUCK there. Pro-Investors don't deal in LUCK, they deal with FACT!

I conducted a survey not too long ago, in fact, just for interest, I have launched another poll today on the exact same topic, and one of the questions asked what people found to be their biggest challenge to making their betting pay. Time and time again, they told me that their biggest problem was DISCIPLINE. The biggest challenge wasn't that they couldn't find winners, although this was high in the list of answers, it wasn't that they didn't have time to bet, this too rated highly and it wasn't finding a workable staking plan to match the betting system requirements either. It was that time immemorial human weakness - you guessed it DISCIPLINE and will-power (or lack of it as the case may be).

I apologise for going all biblical on you here but, if Adam could have bet on two horses running around a race track at the Garden of Eden during the National Hunt season, he would have been the first punter in the history of time to go broke, because he gave in to TEMPTATION. Well it beats the apple story and blaming Eve doesn't it!

It's time we looked at the next step in my "7 Step Roadmap To Riches"

Developing the discipline of the Jedi Knight

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.....

We all know the Star Wars story don't we? In case you don't...
Anakin Skywalker was the ambitious young apprentice to Obi Wan Kenobi, who desperately wanted to be a Jedi Master. But he was not focused, and he lacked discipline. He was a maverick. He allowed himself to become distracted and he fell in love with Princess Padme Amidala. Eventually he was seduced by the powerful Emperor and consumed by the evil forces of the Dark Side, to become Darth Vader.

Every one of us has followed a similar path with our betting habits. We all KNOW that we should develop a plan, and stick rigidly to that plan. We all KNOW we should seek to find value in our bets. We all KNOW we should adopt a sensible money management strategy.

But we all also KNOW we should stop smoking, eat our five a day of fruit and vegetables, and get meaningful regular exercise right...!

I know that everyone has their little vices, and bad habits but developing better DISCIPLINE is nothing more than a matter of establishing sound new habits, and empowering your mind over your heart.

How can I start to do this?

  • Establishing new habits takes time - you can't change things overnight, but, according to proven empirical data, it will take 60 days for your brain to recognize a change in behaviour as a habit.
  • Have a strong reason to make changes, and you will find yourself better motivated to resist in those real moments of weakness. If you really, REALLY want to be a successful pro-investor, you will find yourself not distracted so easily.
  • Have a PLAN and WRITE IT DOWN. Be as specific as you can, and set yourself fixed rules. This is not psycho-babble, if you write down your plan, you will find it easier to recognise when you are thinking of doing something NOT IN THE PLAN
  • Whenever you are placing a bet, just ask yourself this question. Does this form part of your PLAN? If the bet is unplanned, don't place it! No matter what the circumstances are.

Now, I know you may be saying that all the above is very simplistic, that's easy for you to say and it's just plain easier to put statements like these down in words than to act upon them consistently. Well yes, but, if you apply yourself daily, more and more, and keep resisting the urge to have that "extra bet just for fun" the pain will become less and less over a period of time.

Betting without emotion is certainly not easy, but it is the heart and sole of any pro-investor. We invest to make money and not to lose it. But I appreciate that for many the whole attraction of betting is based upon emotion, this is what sometimes what leads to the addiction many suffer from. How "emotional" do they look, the hundreds of punters holding the winning ticket as the favourite pulls away from the field up the final hill at Cheltenham? Is it good emotion, bad emotion? It doesn't matter, no emotion is what you seek.

I am not saying here that you shouldn't enjoy your successes, we all must, from time to time, stop and smell the roses. But the next time you are at the races, as the race approaches the finish, take your eyes off the horses, and look at the bookmakers in the betting ring. How emotional do they look? Compare this now to the punters and race-goers? Pretty dead-pan by comparison.. right? That's because betting is their business - and that is just how you should treat your betting activities, if you want to come away in profit and with your sanity intact.

Making a sideways leap from the Star Wars theme, Spock in Star Trek would have been a good punter. He could only think logically and had no emotions to speak of. For those of you who prefer The Next Generation, Commander Data, the android, would be a good role model (and would also be a useful companion when you're trying to work out the returns from a winning Super Heinz). Model your betting patterns on these type of people and you won't go far wrong.

In fact, if you really do struggle to keep emotion out of your betting, then using an android to place your bets would be one solution. Not quite so sci-fi but just as effective are the betting 'bots' now widely available. These clever pieces of specially developed software can be programmed to follow your exact betting parameters and instructions to the letter, identify your bets, and place them automatically for you even at your specified prices. All whilst you get on with your day job, well out of harm's way!

These betting 'bots' are never tempted to follow a dead-cert tip or chase losses, or commit any of the "stupid" mistakes to which all we humans are prone.

I will be reviewing some of these betting 'bots' soon.

At the end of the day, developing DISCIPLINE is a skill only YOU can master. I don't mind being your personal Yoda, but the answer still lies with you.

Don't be seduced by the Dark Side... go towards the light.

We'll wrap it up there for now. Soon we'll get on to the subject of finding VALUE and that should be very interesting as it's the most over used, banded about saying in racing, but I'll open that can of worms another day.
